Massage for TMJ
Provided by RMT Michelle S.
Temporomandibular Joints or TMJ are the joints that connect your lower jaw to your skull. TMD or Temporomandibular Joint Disorder can cause pain in this area and be caused by teeth grinding, jaw injuries, arthritis and every day jaw use. It can present as joint pain when the jaw is at rest, a painful clicking or popping when talking or chewing, locking of the jaw, and/or pain around the ear and can be on one side of the face or both.
Massage treatment on this area is normally done by working into the jaw, along the cheeks and up into the ears and temples. Intra-oral massage can also be done. This techniques requires the practitioner to use gloves and work inside the mouth at the patient's request and can be very effective for treating TMJ and/or TMD pain.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)
Provided by RMT Michelle S and Thomas B. Massage with Osteopathic techniques
CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebro-spinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:
*Migraine Headaches
*Chronic Neck and Back Pain
*Motor-Coordination Impairments
*Colic
*Autism
*Central Nervous System Disorders
*Orthopedic Problems
*Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
*Scoliosis
*Infantile Disorders
*Learning Disabilities
*Chronic Fatigue
*Emotional Difficulties
*Stress and Tension-Related Problems
*Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders
*Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
*Neurovascular or Immune Disorders
*Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
*Post-Surgical Dysfunction
Please note, we are only able to offer this treatment to those ages 20+

Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave Treatments may treat the following conditions:
· Insertion Tendinopathy
· Heel Spurs
· Plantar Fasciitis
· Tennis elbow/golfers elbow
· Pattillo-femoral Syndrome /Achillodynia (jumpers knee)
· Myofascial Pain Syndromes, Fibromyalgia
· Tibialis Anterior Syndrome, (shin splints)
· Impingement Syndrome
· Trigger Point Therapy
· Bursitis
· Osteoarthritis
· Shoulder Tendinitis
· Tendon calcification
and more ...
Radial Shockwave Therapy has proven to be an effective treatment option for these conditions. It is unique in its' ability to treat conditions which have become chronic, where other more traditional therapies or modalities have not proven effective.
Patients treated with Radial Shockwave Therapy frequently report immediate response to their treatment. Most report a significant reduction in pain and a noticeable improvement in mobility after their very first treatment. Clinical research has been ongoing for decades and the published data clearly shows that Radial Shockwave Therapy is a highly
effective treatment option for many musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.
Radial Shockwave Therapy works without the need for drugs, or analgesics and stimulates the body’s natural ability to heal itself, and in some cases can even help eliminate the need for surgery.
Individual Shockwave Therapy treatments usually involve delivering about 2,000 Shockwave pulses or “shots” per treatment area.
This takes about 5-10 minutes. Most conditions require between 3 and 6 treatments in total. Normally the treatment protocol recommends between 1 and 3 treatments per week. The patient’s body requires “rest & repair” time between treatments in order to allow for natural, accelerated healing.
Unlike many other forms of therapy, Shockwave Therapy generates virtually immediate positive results. Even after just one treatment, patients usually report:
• A significant reduction in pain.
• Improved Mobility (range of motion).
• More normalized muscle tone.
• Muscle “knots” or tightness are usually gone or noticeably reduced & relaxed.
May be covered by extended health benefits with massage therapy treatments
**Shockwave Therapy can only be provided by select, trained RMT's and our Chiropractor.
