Our clinic provides only Registered Massage Therapists (RMT's) for therapeutic treatments.  All of our RMT's have earned a college diploma which includes a minimum of 2200 hrs of training(2-3yr college program).  We are proud to be part of the health care profession!!!

 

Our registered massage therapists are current members of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario(CMTO).  We take pride in our profession and are continually expanding our knowledge and treatments with post-graduate education and training to assist in the needs of our patients. 

     

       Victoria Adams RMT and Owner :

 

Victoria graduated with Honors in 2000 from a local private college in Barrie. A proud mother of a beautiful 10 year old daughter, Victoria has lived in Barrie most of her life. 

 

Since graduating, Victoria has gained extensive experience and participated in several continuing education courses. Victoria's focus is on the therapeutic benefits of heat and the many modalities related to heat and hydro therapy.  By combining both elements of a spa and sports clinic environment it allows more treatment options for the client.

 

Victoria's techniques are very flexible to suit your needs, however, you can expect firm pressure. 

 

Victoria was voted 3 years in a row for Barrie's Favourite Massage Therapist in 2008, 2009 and 2010 for the Readers Choice Awards!!

 

       Kristen Leavitt RMT:

 

Kristen graduated from the Georgian College Massage Therapy Program in Barrie, April 2007. Kristen has previous training in a variety of areas. This includes sports injuries, pregnancy massage, repetitive strain injuries and relaxation massage, as well as Hot Stone massage and Thermal Palms. Kristen joined Adams Massage Therapy since the expansion in October 2007.

 

                                      

                Miranda Taylor RMT: 

 

Miranda always knew that she wanted to be a massage therapist ever since she was 16 years old. For generations her family of health care practitioners was strong and she knew that she wanted to follow in those footsteps.

 

 Miranda displays an interest in the body and how it works, and enjoys helping people feel better with as much knowledge and care that she can possibly give. Miranda originally graduated from a massage therapy continuing education course in 2006 in Calgary, Alberta, which included a one-year program. After completion, Miranda returned to Ontario, where she continued school for massage therapy at Centennial college, graduating as one of the top students of her class!

 

 Miranda is very excited to begin her career with Adams Massage Therapy. Miranda’s future focus in continuing education includes rehabilitation and maintenance treatments. Miranda is flexible to every clients needs in respect to treatment pressures. She strives to do her best to give each and every client the care and comfort that they deserve! 

 

   Tim Adams RMT/Office manager:

 

Tim brings with him many years of experience and knowledge.  Graduating with honors, Tim has been registered as a massage therapist since 2000!

Tim specializes and displays a passion in Thai massage and can provide deep tissue techniques when necessary as well as a soothing touch for relaxation.  His past and present experience has included, on site massage/chair massage, spa's, clinics and resorts.

 

Tim provides massage therapy treatments and thai masssage on Thursday evenings.

   Barb Pilbeam RMT

 

Barb was born and raised in the Chatham area then headed north to pursue her dream of becoming a massage therapist.  She graduated from Sault College in Sault Ste. Marie in 2004 and then moved to the Muskoka area where she has been employed in private practice and in spas at different resorts in this area.  She is relatively new to the Barrie area and is looking forward to meeting new clients in this area, regardless of their massage therapy needs. 

 

Barb is committed to the concept of continuing education in her chosen field and, since graduation, she has taken several courses, which complement her basic training and enable her to offer a wide range of treatment modalities. These include Deep Tissue massage, Hot Stone massage and most recently she completed intensive training in the area of Myofascial release for the shoulder.
 
Barb has recently attended an extensive course in lymphatic drainage.

       Caitlin Bohach RMT

 

Caitlin graduated from the Massage Therapy Fast Track program at Georgian College with honours. She also expanded her knowledge by taking the pre-health science course that Georgian College offers before pursuing her career as a massage therapist. She has participated in several outreaches in the area including sports and injury prevention, pre-natal and pregnancy, geriatric, health and wellness and children with cancer.

Caitlin believes that working in a multi-disciplinary clinic is one of the best ways to treat clients. Working with other health care professionals is a great way to learn and focus on client centered care.

Caitlin loves meeting people and looks forward to the opportunity to build a relationship with her clients. On her spare time, Caitlin loves to keep an active lifestyle. If she is not at the gym, she is either playing ball hockey or joining a kickboxing class.
 
 
 
 
 
Gill (Gillian) MacDonald RMT

Gill (Jill) graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough, Ontario. Throughout her three years of school on top of attending classes, Gill had regular shifts in the student-run clinic based out of her college. She treated clients with a variety of conditions and needs. She participated in a couple of outreaches including one at the Toronto Marathon, providing massage for athletes after they completed their race, as well as an outreach providing massage for pregnant women.

 

Gill has experience treating a number of conditions, amoung them being; low back pain, trigger-point pain, and rehabilitation from injury. She plans to maintain and build her knowledge through continuing education courses, which will help her to provide more specific care for her clients.

 

Gill is looking forward to meeting and building a professional relationship with her clients.

 
 
 
 
Carolyn Courtman RMT
 
Carolyn always knew she wanted to be in a profession that helped others and enabled her to interact with a variety of different people. Carolyn graduated, with honours, from a private college for Massage therapy near her hometown of Oakville, Ontario. While building a practice in the Milton and Oakville areas, Carolyn had the opportunity to meet and treat a variety of clients from pre-natal to sports injury and relaxation and stress reduction.  Carolyn and her family have recently relocated to the Barrie area and she is happy to be a part of the Adams Massage Therapy team and bring her knowledge and skills to a new and exciting clinic.
 
 
 
Danika Mason RMT
 
Danika graduated with Honours from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy
Danika is passionate in her love of Massage Therapy which fosters her desires to assist people suffering from acute or chronic physical imbalances including muscular, fascial, tendinous, or ligamentous. She believes that knowledge is prevention and with her training and education of anatomy, physiology and physical assessment she is confident in customizing each treatment for her client’s individual needs.

A healthy mind and body is the key element for a Massage Therapists success. Danika’s determination for maintaining her own health and fitness regimes has seen her complete two Marathons, a Goofy Challenge, and several Half Marathons.  Her commitment to her own training and personal growth was evident when she was selected to represent Ontario at numerous National Championships. A Varsity Athlete representing The University of Western Ontario’s Rugby team, a ranked National athlete touring England and Scotland and most recently earning her starting position at the Nations Cup, also with Rugby Canada.

She plans on continuing her education with her Certification in Active Release Therapy Techniques, Muscle Energy and Personal Training. She aims to enhance and maintain her client’s healthy functioning bodies and minds with various Swedish Massage techniques and hydrotherapy, accompanied with home care.
 
Alisha DeValk RMT
Alisha DeValk graduated from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and has been practising massage since 2007. When it comes to her treatments she is very adaptable whether is relaxation or deep tissue Alisha is confident you will enjoy your treatment. 
Always looking for ways to expand her knowledge she has completed the following courses Thai Stem Massage, Thai Stem Facial Massage, Hot Stone Massage, and Deep Tissue Training. 
 
Alisha has most recently returned from a 40 day trip to Thailand to learn some additional skills and some of the history of Thai massage.
Alisha is excited to continue her career at Adams Massage Clinic and hopes you will come and visit.
